Resort Decorations

Many resorts at Christmas have decorations that are beyond amazing, definitely a must see! Some of these resorts include the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and many more! I will do a separate blog post about the decorations at resorts in Disney.

Epcot Festival of the Holidays

Epcot's Festival of the Holidays is something you sure don't want to miss when visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season! Every country has there own food stand for the holidays. There is special merchandise from the event. Lastly there is a Candlelight Processional which is massive choir, orchestra, and a special guest narrator. This event is telling the story Jesus with singing through the performance. Epcot was definitely one of my favorite parts of traveling to Disney at Christmas.

Flurry of Fun at Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios has two spectacular nighttime event, Sunset Seasons Greetings and Jingle Bell Jingle BAM! These shows get you into the Christmas spirit!

Skyliner

SkyLiner

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had a good start to the school year! I am in high school now and I have a lot more work than I did in Middle School! So I have decided to post every 2 weeks so then I can try to stay on schedule!

I am going to talk today about the new transportation system coming to Walt Disney World in just one week! The Disney Skyliner is essentially a gondola, like at a ski resort except much faster and Disney which makes everything better! There are a total of 300 gondolas on property that will show you new views and add a fun new experience to try with your family.

Style:

Each Disney Skyliner Gondola can hold a maximum of 10 people, 5 on each bench. Additionally each gondola is themed with iconic Disney characters, films and attractions.

An illustration of 2 aerial gondolas transporting Woody, Jessie, Buzz, C3PO and R2D2

Stops:

This cool new transportation is estimated to take about 5-15 minutes depending on where your destination is. The Skyliner travels to two of the Walt Disney World theme parks, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. The Skyliner will pick guests up from these 4 following resorts; Art of Animation, Carribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Rivera Resort which is set to open December 2019. There are three lines of the gondolas and at each stop there is a gateway where you can either get to your destination or get on another skyliner to go somewhere else.  The map of the  system is below:

Times:

Below is the Skyliner hours for each day in October, November, and December.

October 2019:

November 2019:

December 2019:

I am so excited for the Skyliner to open and can not wait to ride it! The Skyliner will be a cool way of transportation and I think will become very helpful as we approach the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World! Please email me with any requests for blog posts at hcfswimmer@gmail.com and have a magical week!

Disney's H2o glow night at Typhoon Lagoon

Disney's H2o glow night at Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon is one of Disney's amazing waterparks! Over the summer Disney is offering a new event at Typhoon Lagoon called Disney's H2o glow night at Typhoon Lagoon! It is a glow in the dark dance party at along with all of the slides and rides open. The event is themed for The new movie Toy Story 4 featuring pixar characters Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie. This event requires a separate ticket which costs $59 for adults and $54 for children if you buy in advance. If you buy the ticket at the park, the price raises $10.

This event has:

Tickets

Hello Everyone!

I am here today to talk to you about tickets! There are many different variations of Walt Disney World tickets and after you book your flight and hotel; tickets are the next thing to do! Many of these options are addition to the general park ticket, you MUST have the general park ticket to get into the park. General Park ticket prices are around $109 per day ages 10 and up. Children ages 3 and under can enter the parks for free and the children 4-9 price is a little cheaper than the adult ticket. To Enter the park you must have this ticket the rest of these ticket options are additional and optional but they are an additional price. The more days you stay and purchase tickets the cheaper they get per person per day here is a graph showing these prices.

The Park Hopper: The Park Hopper ticket is so you have access to going to more than one park in one day. The basic ticket only allows you in one park per day but with the park hopper you can go to as many parks in one day as you want. The price depends on how many days your vacation is.

The Park Hopper Plus: The Park hopper plus is the same thing as the regular park hopper ticket but  you also get access to both waterparks, the golf courses and the ESPN sports complex. This is $20 more than the regular park hopper ticket and I think it is a good deal if you would like to also visit the water parks.

The Water Parks and more: This is for people who would like to visit the waterparks but NOT the regular parks. This ticket includes both waterparks, the golf courses and the ESPN sports complex.

I hope this helped you get some more information on the tickets available and can help you make the right decision!

Have a magical day!

Dining Plan

Dining Plan

The Disney Dining plan is one of the many things that Disney has to offer to help you have a magical vacation! There are 3 different dining plans all with different amounts of credits. There are 3 types of credits. No matter what plan you choose everyone gets the number of credits allowed on the plan you pay for per person and per night of your stay. When you arrive to Disney your plan is already paid for which means when you are done eating at the restaurant you say that you are on the dining plan and your meals are already paid for as long as you use the credit that you have. If you do not use all of the credits allowed for that day it is ok. The credits do not go away they are still on your bands for you to use at any time. My suggestion is that if you have snack credits is to use those as you lunch and if you have some left over at the end of your trip you can buy the Goofy's Candies or Rice Krispy treats to eat on the way home!

Table Service Credit: A sit down meal at a place like Coral Reef or The Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's
Quick Service Credit: A quick meal like fast food at a place like Casey's Corner
Snack Credit: A snack credit is for something like a Cookie, a Dole Whip, or a small soda.

There are 3 types of dining plans

These plans go from Quick service being the cheapest and Deluxe being the most expensive. I recommend if you are not a big eater and you eat no breakfast and just snacks than the quick service plan is for you. If you like 3 course meals for every meal than having a lot of credits with the Deluxe might be for you. My family always goes with the standard dining plan. Every person gets these numbers of credits per person per night of your stay.

Quick Service Dining Plan- 2 quick service credits, 2 snacks

Standard Dining Plan- 1 quick service, 1 table service, 2 snacks

Deluxe Dining Plan- 3 credits to use as quick or table service, 2 snacks

Dining tip: If you are going with younger kids it would be smart to not get something for everyone at every meal. You could use 2 adult credits when eating at a quick service and share. This can save your credits and is perfect for a snack.

Quick service lines can be long but they go fast. Send your family to look for table while you order. The lines to the left or the right are usually shorter.

You can also order food on the mydisneyexperience app for pick up at some quick service location.

If your plans change during the day you can call Disney Dining. Many of the hot restaurants can become available that same day.

Kids meal usually include a drink and fruit with what you ordered. Kids meals are small so remember that when you order.

Kids breakfast are very small. Sit your kids at a table and go up to the line and use the adult credits.

Your receipt will print out a balance of credits so you know how many you have left.

DO NOT buy bottled water, they cost like $3!!  Also do not use bottled waters as snack credits. Any quick service restaurant you can go up to the counter and ask for a cup of water.

Resort mugs are mugs with many different prints and colors on them so everyone in your family can have their own. These mugs are included in the dining plan and when you are at your resort for the time of your stay you can get an unlimited amount of drinks.

Children 3 to 9 must order off of the children's menu. Children 3 and under eat for free off of their parents plate.

Every adult meal quick service or table service includes one alcoholic beverage except in Magic Kingdom where it is an alcohol free zone!

I hope this helped you get some more information on the dining plan! If you are in need of any more help you can call Disney Dining from 7am to 11pm if you are in need of more assistance!

What to do when you get to your Resort

What to do when you get to your Resort

After you arrive at your resort your should check in. You can either do this on the My Disney Experience app or at the Front Desk. If your room is ready go ahead and bring your bags there and unpack, then follow along with your plans for the day. If your room is not ready you can give your bags to the bell services team and you will get a text when your room is ready. When you get a notification that your room is ready if you are at the resort you can go and pick them up and bring them to your room. Or you can have bell's services drop off your bags in your room. If you arrive on the Magical Express you can have them take your bags that are checked and they will be dropped of at your room later that day.

Getting to Florida and to your resort is stressful but the magic is just about to begin!
